The Global Action Programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development was for an initial phase of five years (2015-2019). To build on the efforts made by the Decade for advocacy and awareness raising, the GAP, acknowledged by the UN General Assembly as the official follow-up to the Decade, focused on the scaling up of actions on the ground. Policy, education institutions, educators, youth and local communities were identified as five Priority Action Areas for implementation.

On 9-10 July 2018 a Technical Consultation Meeting on the Future of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) will take place in Bangkok, Thailand. Further information here.
